NASA Attempts to Break Record with Mach 10 Flight 27
starannihilator writes "Wired News is reporting that NASA is planning on using its new SCRAMJET to break the aircraft speed record (on Earth, anyway) at Mach 10 (7,000 mph or 10-times the speed of sound). Using the hypersonic X-43A, NASA hopes to break the record on Monday, November 15th."

No no no. You don't understand the implications.
The reason there is a duplicate is they've already done the test, but in a freak accident they slingshotted around the Earth's gravity well, and have gone back in time.
Now with their special future knowledge, they're announcing they're about to try it again.
