Toothbrush Ranked Number One Invention 5

An anonymous reader writes "According to this the toothbrush has been voted the greatest invention in the US.
Ok, so I like my toothbrush, but better than my laptop, I don't know. And what about the car, the airplace etc.
Although, would any of these be any good if you couldn't eat?"

Hurray! I got a first post on a story thats more than a day old!!!!!
  • I've got only post!
  • Adults and teens were asked to choose from the following list and specify what invention they most wanted: toothbrush, automobile, cell phone, personal computer, and microwave oven.

one of these is clearly unlike the others. the toothbrush is for preservation of the body, the other items are all luxuries you could do without. why don't they make this a real article/survey and ask "which is the greatest invention: toothbrush, clothing, medicines, shelter, etc."

(and no, trolls, pr0n is not a more important invention than any of the above) :)
  • C'mon, this is a silly, meaningless survey. Why not put clothes on the list too? Or agriculture, or marriage or blades?

Besides, this article says the toothbrush was invented in the 15th century. But that was Pre-Columbian and everybody knows that it was invented later in West Virginia [theancestors.com]. We know that because if it was invented anywhere else it would have been called the "Teeth Brush". <rimshot />
