Pollution-Detecting Film

I like to see lower-tech answers replacing higher-tech ones, especially when it means pollution monitoring can be done more easily.

It sounds interesting, because if we coat stuff with this, everybody will see the level of pollution and won't be dependant on (not always correct) readings from a few sensors, but I think that it would suck if your car keeps on changing color when you drive from city to country, etc...

Ya' know. If you've got hexylamine coating your car, then you've got bigger problems than the changing aesthetics of your car.
