Former World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov Hospitalized In Serious Condition 67
According to Russian telegram channels, the former World Chess Champion, Antoly Karpov, was "rushed to the hospital with multiple head injuries in which he was placed in an induced coma," reports ChessBase. "Karpov was put on a ventilator now, and has been diagnosed with cerebral edema, fractures of the right parietal and right temporal bones, multiple head hematomas, and traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage." From the report: On a few things none of the reports still in circulation disagree: the 12th World Champion and current member of Duma, Anatoly Karpov, 71, was found on the ground outside of the Duma, and unresponsive. His blood alcohol levels were very elevated, and he was rushed to the hospital into intensive care. Some early reports claimed he was the victim of an assault and in induced coma. This was later reiterated by other outlets such as Marca from Spain.

That's not was meant IMHO. Yes Putin is a Stalinist, but he's not solely responsible for climate change or malaria. I believe most here get that. However who is the most likely in this case to carry on 'chilling' all opposition by physical attack? The world wonders...

Descendant of a survivor here. Stalin began it but you are correct to suggest it was Russia since it is Russia that continues it. Not the Holodomor itself, the genocide.
They enforced the Russian language, destroyed people's history, continue to steal from farms and factories, dispossess people of their land and businesses, they corrupt the election process and they murder then run away home.
Of course, not all Russians are like this, but their support is implicit as these things are done in their name.

I am not a decendent of any survivor or have any other personal connection to Russia or Ukraine at all, but russification of Ukraine began already during the Russian Empire. Catherine the Great started it by dissolving the Cossack Hetmanate and then dividing it into provinces. The 19th century saw the start of the cultural russification under Nikolai I.

If Putin is ever taken out from the inside, it would probably be a coup attempt by people who had given every external indication of being staunch loyalists. Not saying that was this guy's plan, but the fact that he was in Putin's party and externally loyal doesn't mean he didn't do something against the regime. There's also the possibility that good old fashioned paranoia got him. Stalin purged plenty of people who were completely loyal to him out of paranoia.
