While visible light can reveal a tremendous amount of information, it's by going to shorter (UV) and longer (IR) wavelengths that we can learn where the newest, hottest stars are, find that they form in clusters along the arms and in the center, see through the (visible) light-blocking dust, and pinpoint the location of the neutral gas that will form the next generation of stars.

He has done this kind of "diashow" for some time now. The first time I saw it it was awesome, now I just ignore the whole story.

Yeah, just pick the part closest to the center. It'll give you the general idea. They kinda botched the whole thing with no captions too.

Here's a hint, we'll be here tomorrow too, we'll still feed your dumed down blog with clicks then too. There's no rush to get it out so quickly that you can't even have a look at your own page to see if the full high res pictures that can't be rescaled don't take up 30 pages. .

Shorter wavelength mean HIGHER frequency. Longer wavelengths mean LOWE frequency. About a relative point.
Infra red is BELOW visible light in frequency (below red). Like infrasonic, below what you can here (not to be confused with subsonic, slower than sound - yes, that subwoofer is a sic).
And from this you know where UV lies.
Now you know.
