Isabel Pictorial From Coastal Virginia 20

I don't understand the point of this submission, at all.
If it is for people that have never been through a hurricane, it is a weak depiction of their power. If it is for those that have it is silly. He took more pictures of stores and ooooow, rain and wind. My local newspaper's coverage is infinitely better. [heraldsun.com]

Somebody got photos of it and put it on the net for all to see. This is fairly significant in regards to the fact that there's no media spin. If this had been an invasion as opposed to a hurricane, the value would be much brighter.
Don't get me wrong, I sort of see your point, but I just liked this because it came from the PoV of somebody who was there as opposed to a sensationalist reporter.

The hurricane hit NC as quite a few do, but it also hit Virginia, which is usually not subjected to hurricane-force weather. I think the much more interesting information is what happens to areas that are not normally subjected to extreme weather (TM). This is a nifty thing to see, because (a) if the hurricane had been any worse, we probably wouldn't be seeing many amateur pictures, and (b) because the thing didn't cause any really serious damage compared to other storms.
