Planned EVA for Space Station Expedition 6 Crew

Kathy Miles writes "The International Space Station was boosted into a 3 mile higher orbit in preparation for an April 26 launch of TMA-2. The Soyuz capsule will carry two new crew members to the ISS for Expedition 7. Expedition 6 will return in May. And on April 8, there is a planned EVA for Expedition 6 crew of Commander Ken Bowerson and Science Officer Don Pettit. The two will be continuing the ongoing outfitting of the International Space Station."

Yes. The object found in the vicinity of Jupiter/Saturn was given the designation TMA-2 due to the fact that it was identical in all repects except size to the one found on the moon. The fact that it was nowhere near Tycho, didn't have an intense magnetic field and was identical to a previously observed object was no barrier to the people who named it.

You'd think people would remember this. It was only two years ago!

I just think that the government has no business funding research that does not benefit people/humanity in some tanigible way.

You really should read up on the benefits of the space program. The work done to get humans into space has resulted in numerous, very useful, live-saving innovations. Take a look at medical technology; many of the recent advances wouldn't have happened were it not for the space program.

Also you should take a look at the programs you wish to 'enhance'. Welfare... That's solved

Thats a limited view on what counts as a resource. Without the money that went into space exploration, we would not have satelites. We wouldnt have GPS, we would have trans-global phone calls, we wouldnt be able to talk to people in Antarctica (the guys that discovered the hole in the ozzone layer - that was pretty essential research given the c

Oh yes, in addition, a space elevator would slash the costs of access to space - communications satelites would be ten a penny. Solar satelites beaming energy back to earth would be financially possible. Green energy? Would be nice wouldnt it.

Nice liberal rant here... Why is it the "peoples" (i.e. the Government's) job to feed/cloth/shelter anyone. First of all, why doesn't the guy on 5th and whatever go and get a job, oh - he doesn't have an education... Well who's fault is that - The government all ready provided him with an oportunity to educate himself that he wasted.

Some people just don't want to be fed/chothed/sheltered, and so they aren't... There is nothing the government can, or should do about it.
