The CDC repeated China's assertions that there was no evidence of human transmissibility without actually examining those claims. By making themselves an amplifier for Chinese propaganda, they compromised their reputation for integrity. Therefore I trust neither of them blindly.
You happened to be in the house next door to a place got robbed. The police come knocking on your door. What do you think should happen: 1) talk to them nicely and explain what you saw? 2) the police force you into their squad car because of the circumstantial evidence that you were next door and maybe had an argument with them last week?
Exactly - there's no evidence for natural origin either. Also, the natural origin theory is as it stands weak, since it is not specified what animals were involved. Mainly because the natural host for covid-19 has not been located. That it is allowed to get away with this shields the theory from attack.

The CDC is saying there's no evidence, which is false. The evidence is only circumstantial, and that is not the same thing as hard evidence, but it is also not the same as no evidence. Trump's stooge is saying it's his personal opinion and further research will have to be done to determine whether he's correct or not. That part is correct even if it is only being stated for purposes of propaganda. [politico.com]
