FortKnox's Journal: Robotic "Insect" to Help in Future Rover Missions

Space.com has an article about a robotic flying "insect" called the "Entomopter" that is specially designed to fly in the maritan atmosphere. It would be used to scout ahead for rover missions (or to get a birds-eye-view for astronauts), and carry scientific sensors. They say its refuelable and revolutionary. It has a 3-foot wingspan, and can carry 33lb loads. They also continue on why they chose the "insect wing" type of lift instead of the standard "airplane" type. Quite an interesting read.

33 earth pounds or 33 martian pounds? This is why we need to switch to the metric system, it would be much clearer if it was say, 15kg.

There actually is an imperial unit of mesure for mass. It is the slug. One slug is roughly 14.59 kgs.
