Toren Altair writes "Soyuz TMA-13 with ISS Expedition Crew 18 and Spaceflight Participant Richard Gariott successfully launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome at 7:01 UT (3:01 EDT).

ISS-18 commander — Edward Michael "Mike" Fincke — leads the mission with Flight Engineer Yury Valentinovich Lonchakov and spaceflight participant of the ISS visiting crew Richard Garriott. Expedition 17 flight engineer Gregory E. Chamitoff, already onboard the station, will then transfer to the Expedition 18 crew. He will be replaced by Astronaut Sandra H. Magnus, scheduled to fly to the station on STS-126.

The Soyuz capsule will dock to the ISS in two days. Richard Gariott will return to Earth with Expedition 17 crew members, Commander Sergei Volkov and Flight Engineer Oleg Kononenko on October 23."
