Freshly Exhumed writes: Until recently the news for Linux users regarding upcoming hardware to be sold with Windows 8's locked in/out UEFI settings has been less than palatable. Thankfully an Intel initiative is tackling a UEFI workaround that may prove suitable for Linux distributions. Will it work?
