+ - Google' App Inventor To Shut With No Alternative ->

Submitted by mikejuk
mikejuk (1801200) writes "On December 31 Google's App Inventor is scheduled to close. Having been handed over to MIT, as an open source project, it might have been assumed that, as far as it users were concerned, it would continue seamlessly. But this is not the case. MIT promise that they will have a server up and running sometime in the first quarter of 2012. Until then all students can do is download their projects to save them from being deleted and wait. Surely Google could keep the servers running until MIT is ready to offer an alternative service — after all remember "Don't be evil"."
