schwit1 writes "An investigator for the Air Force stated that three so-called flying saucers had been recovered in New Mexico. They were described as circular in shape with raised centers approximately 50 feet in diameter. Each one was occupied by three bodies of human shape, but only 3 feet tall dressed in metallic clothing of very fine texture."

They were the original recipe for Soylent Green [wikipedia.org].

This is, actually on "vault.fbi.org" and seems to say exactly what the summary says.
Two questions:
Did somebody put this on the FBI server as a hoax?
What did the FBI do about it? Why does it say that the military personnel involved did not investigate further in the document? This implies that they knew exactly what, and who it was flying it, otherwise wouldn't there have been an investigation?

Lots of questions with no answers. I just posted this to reddit. Hopefully a lot of people will eventually see this and start asking the right questions.

I am for the most part an extreme skeptic when it comes to UFOs. This really puts a huge hole in my viewpoint if it is true. I don't know, maybe it was a report filed on incorrect information. Lots of questions here.
Not the Roswell UFO - title incorrect? (Score:1)
This article, which mentions only "New Mexico" as the location, references a different event entirely. The site [fbi.gov] says, "Guy Hottel was a Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Washington Field Office. The information concerning Mr. Hottel is in regard to a March 22, 1950, memo he sent to the Director concerning flying saucers."
The Roswell document is here [fbi.gov] and is dated July 1947.
The "disc" discussed in reference to Roswell, NM, was hexagonally-shaped and suspended from a balloon, not at all like this article's
