But, according to a report by the AFP news agency, this same drive to make money is actually putting the brakes on embryonic stem cell research. With the research already set back years due to government research bans, U.S. scientists now face roadblocks because other universities or companies have secured exclusive rights.

  • The article does not blame Govt control, it puts the problem where it always was going to be, Private research for profit vs. the common good. Health is always going to be a minefield, unlike mobile phones or whatever, because we are dealing with people lives. Yes, Companies deserve to get their money back from research, but not at the cost of more research, but people will not spend the money on research if their isn't a profit in it. So why not approach it from a Govt/Military method. The Govt funds resea
