carvalhao (774969) writes "The Register reports on a study from NASA and the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that claims that new climate models that account for the effects of increased CO2 levels on plant growth result on a 1,64 C increase for a doubling of CO2 concentrations, a far less gloomy scenario than previously considered."

Doubling of CO2 not so tragic after all?

  • May your attempt to get this information out there fair better than mine did [slashdot.org].

This is amazing! I actually believe that global warming is real and a problem to be tackled with urgency, but this information is no less relevant for that matter... Voted yours up anyway, who knows one of it will come up.
  • The thing about global warming is that it turn our collective attention away from real bad problem like estrogen like pollution. fish in river are getting feminized and yet almost nobody talk about it. Cancer rate are alarmingly high but we talk about the harmless CO2. If the relative threat of CO2 and global watrming is put into perspective maybe we could address the bio-accumulating halogen(F,I,Br,Cl to a lesser extend)-organic compound problem.
