Ancient Desert Glyphs Pointed Way To Fairgrounds 38

sciencehabit (1205606) writes "Seen from above, the jagged rocks strewn about the Chincha Valley desert in Peru seem inconspicuous. But stand in the desert itself and these rocks form lines that stretch toward the horizon. Researchers have found that these lines were probably ancient signposts for the Paracas culture more than 2000 years ago, guiding people across the desert to gathering places for the winter solstice."

What? Fossils are not created that quickly. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F... [wikipedia.org] , "fossils range in age from the youngest at the start of the Holocene Epoch to the oldest from the Archaean Eon, up to 3.48 billion years old." The Holocene Epoch started about 12,000 years ago. These markers are only a little more than 2,000 years old. Got proof to backup your claim?

[wikipedia.org] Guess what: you can make plaster from limestone, sand and water. So you yes you could actually make a fossil of a Funnel cake.

Lime plaster is type of plaster composed of hydrated lime (slaked lime), sand and water. Lime plaster is similar to Lime mortar, the main difference is based on use rather than composition. Traditional lime plaster also contains horse hair for reinforcement.

So can all of you who are ignorant and offended go to reddit, 4chan or digg please. Thanks.

That's probably because it is easier to turn your brain off and believe in aliens, than to conduct real research and produce logical conclusions from it.
    • You're forgetting the golden rule! Given a set of evidence, the simplest explanation is always the one that won't get a special on the History channel.
  • I thought a glyph was like a nymph? If they pointed to that, a lot of folks would have showed up. That still may be true. Probably someone decided that was a bad idea. Then, boom, there went the neighborhood. Folks just stopped showing up.
  • Everybody knows those glyphs were road maps for the aliens who created life here on Earth [wikipedia.org].
